A Resolution in Support of Measures Introduced in the Arizona Legislature to Allow Referenda to Increase Representation at the County Level
Arizona Borderlands Democrats, a Democratic club in Santa Cruz County, Arizona, resolves to support measures introduced in the Arizona Legislature by Rep. Marian McClure that will allow voters to decide by referendum to increase the number of Supervisors on their county governing board from three to five. The proposed measure leaves it to the voters of each of Arizona’s rural counties to determine if they are better represented by an expanded Board of Supervisors. If adopted the measures will offer a way to expand democracy in Arizona.
