In just two years, Governor Janet Napolitano has made great strides in Moving Arizona Forward. Her commitment to continue reaching out to Arizonans across our state is strong. But she needs your help to do it, and here’s how you can lend the Governor a hand: You can make a $55 donation to the Governor’s Constituent Communications Fund. It’s that simple! Your contribution of $55 will allow Governor Napolitano to maintain the frequent communication with the people of Arizona that helps make her such a great leader.
You may have never heard of a constituent communications fund. Until just recently, neither had I. The fund is a special account for state officeholders to allow them to communicate with constituents while they are in office. It enables elected officials like our Governor to reach out to more Arizonans, learn about their concerns and better address their needs. Contributions to this fund are limited to $55 per citizen over age 18 and are not tax deductible. Contributions from registered lobbyists are prohibited during the legislature's regular session or during any period thereafter in which a bill is awaiting executive approval or veto.
The need is obvious. As concerned citizens, we know firsthand about the impact of Governor Napolitano’s tireless commitment to Arizona. She is making her mark, investing in programs like voluntary full-day kindergarten, childcare subsidies and child abuse prevention to improve the quality of life for Arizona’s children. She is increasing access to affordable healthcare through Arizona’s first prescription drug discount card and a low cost health insurance program for small business owners and employees. She is stimulating our economy and attracting high-wage jobs for our workforce by proposing tax cuts for Arizona businesses. She is a tireless advocate for improving the quality of life for all Arizonans, from supporting the arts and higher education to her dedication to making sure that every part of our state benefits from the new Arizona economy. It’s vital that every Arizonan know what we know, and be able to hear it from our Governor!
But, Governor Napolitano cannot do it alone. She needs your help to get the word out about her plans and priorities for Moving Arizona Forward.
